Description: Over the course of three full days, enjoy some of the best hikes, biking courses, scenery and cultural attractions in Japan's celebrated Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park, beginning with Mt Fuji. Experience the thrill of biking down the mountain and then around the lakes in its foothills, taking in spectacular views of the surrounding landscapes.

The cycling course winds along lakeshores where swans float across Mt Fuji's reflection in the water and rows of cherry and plum trees are filled with blossoms in spring. Leaves of maple and ginko trees along the routes put on a fantastic display of fiery hues in fall. You'll visit marvelous flower gardens and travel off the beaten path on lovely country roads relatively few tourists see.

Then hike deep into the famous Aokigahara "Sea of Trees" Forest and across its ancient, moss-blanketed lava beds before ascending to a mountain ridge that offers outstanding views of Mt Fuji and the Fuji Five Lakes.

Spend the second day of the tour exploring the beauty and culture of the Hakone area, famous for its well-preserved sections of the historic Old Tokaido Road and its magnificent volcanic landscape. The cycling course begins with a ride down the slopes of a spectacular caldera into the volcano's lowland interior.

You'll visit a breathtaking shrine whose iconic red gates rise out of a lake. Stop for traditional snacks and drinks at a teahouse that has served travellers for hundreds of years. Walk on the cobblestones of the Old Tokaido Road that was once the highway between Kyoto and Tokyo. Then you'll hike up to the caldera rim where magnificent views of Hakone's steaming volcanic valley and Mt Fuji await.

Discover the dramatic coastline and scenic countryside of the Izu Peninsula on the third day of the tour. Hike cliffside trails where ocean waves explode below and pine trees and tropical flowers frame outstanding views of aquamarine bays, secluded beaches and distant islands.

Bike from ancient seaside shrines and cave-dotted capes to picturesque terraced rice fields and farmhouses. Along the way you'll see a spectacular waterfall and a river lined with early-blooming cherry trees.

The length and elevation gain of the hikes and bike rides, as well as the starting and ending points of this tour, can be customized to your preferences. We can also add stops at enchanting hot spring baths (called "onsen" in Japanese), if you like.

Join us for this unforgettable three-day journey through Japan's most famous national park.
