Description: Ride quiet country roads around a lakeshore with spectacular views of Mount Fuji. The lake's waters are exceptionally clean and transparent, and the iconic mountain is often reflected on their surface, creating an enchanting "double-Fuji" image.

The cycling course winds past the famous Aokigahara "Sea of Trees" Forest and its groves of lush oaks and evergreens. Leaves of maple trees along the bike route turn brilliant shades of red, yellow and orange in fall.

After cycling around the lake, you'll stop at a beautifully-restored village of traditional thatched-roof houses used as galleries for the display of hand-made crafts by local artists. There you'll explore on foot, viewing magnificent ceramics, paintings, wood carvings, glasswork, silk garments and indigo-dyed fabrics. Mt Fuji rises up behind the picturesque houses, and the village's rows of cherry trees are covered with bright pink blossoms in spring, making for breathtaking scenery.

This tour spirits you away from the tourist bustle of urban areas to tranquil countryside with outstanding views. It's an ideal way to get off the beaten path and experience a vibrant rural community that preserves key elements of the culture and look of ancient Japan.
